Kitchen Remodeling: Towards Contemporary Styling

For many homeowners who are remodeling their kitchens, the most important consideration is designing a stylish and beautiful kitchen.  This is even more important than integrating their kitchen with the rest of the house for a more holistic feel to the place. In either case, each will have his or her own solution as to what makes a kitchen visually pleasing

Simplicity in Cabinetry

Since 2010, homeowners have begun to shy away from ornate designs and accessories in favor of more contemporary kitchen cabinet doors and transitional styling. This trend of simpler designs shows no signs of fading in the next few months. Kitchen trends using glass tile backsplashes and other material combinations will also be prevalent in modern kitchens.

Materials and Colors

A few years ago, most homeowners opted for cabinets made of maple, cherry, and oak. Now, homeowners are opting for birch and walnut cabinets. When it comes to colors, white remains to be the top choice of color for painted cabinets, followed by off-whites and neutral shades. Gray hues and chrome decorative hardware and fixtures were also among the top choices of kitchen designers.

More homeowners will undoubtedly want to have their kitchens designed based on these trends. Though these may seem fleeting, these kitchen design trends have the potential to pass the test of time.
